Where It All Started
The First Kite School in Los Barriles
ExotiKite was founded in 1998, back when kiteboarding was just beginning and Los Barriles was still off most maps. What started as a humble palapa on the beach became Baja’s first dedicated kite school, built around a simple idea: share the stoke of kiteboarding with anyone who wants to learn. We’ve grown a lot since then, but that original spirit still shapes everything we do.

We’re Ian and Megan, kiteboarders, instructors, parents, and long-time locals. Alongside our two boys, we’ve called Los Barriles home for over 20 years. ExotiKite has always been a family-run school, and when you ride with us, you’re welcomed into that family. This isn’t just a business for us, it’s our life, and we’re proud to share it.
